Since 2000, maintaining a natural, whole food diet has increasingly become important to our family. Over the years we have made many changes. These changes include consuming more cancer fighting foods and less of the foods to avoid.



Information and Inspiration

Several doctors and natural health experts have been an inspiration and influence to us to cultivate a whole food diet as well as other healthy lifestyle changes.

Jordan Rubin is a popular, natural health expert. He has written many books, his most recent being Perfect Weight America. I have a copy of his book entitled The Maker's Diet and it is a fantastic book.

After moving away to college, Jordan abandoned many of the simple, all natural dietary habits he had grown up with. On top of that, he was overloaded with stress.

His health began to quickly deteriorate. This began two years of severe Crohn's disease and many other problems.

His family's search for help sent them to different countries and involved hundreds of medicinal concoctions. His health only continued to spiral downward until he was just skin and bones for months and near death.

After two years, he found the solution in the world's oldest, most sacred, and best-selling book. He is now the model of great health. By feeding your body God's way, having a whole food diet as instructed in the bible, you can enjoy the best of health.

He now lives to teach people how to prevent and defeat disease and sickness of every kind - naturally.

I recall reading a story in The Maker's Diet about a man who underwent chemotherapy. But, because he began to follow the regimen outlined in the book, he said he felt better during chemo than he felt before he had cancer. That says a lot considering that chemo makes you sicker.

Dr. Ted Broer is a well-educated author and seminar speaker. He is an expert in health and wellness areas such as weight loss, nutrition, exercise and disease prevention. He has also provided in-depth information pertaining to a whole food diet.

He has his own list of top ten foods never to eat and is the author of many books including Eat Drink & Be Healthy on the Super Natural Plan.

Similarly, Jordan Rubin has a list of 12 foods to avoid that he refers to as The Dirty Dozen.

These simple healthy recipes are what I use in my own kitchen. I try to cook meals that are nutritious and tasty. I tell my daughter about how neat it is that God made so many yummy and healthy foods for us to eat and I don't want to contradict that. :)
