Chasing The Wind

SBI Video Tour! Are you chasing the wind?

...but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures... (Luke 8:14)

Do not overwork to be rich; because of your own understanding, cease! Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away like an eagle toward heaven. (Proverbs 23:4-5)

Better one handful with tranquility, than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind. (Ecclesiastes 4:6)

If your hands are too full and your life too complicated, let go. Pry your fingers off of what you are gripping so tightly that is weighing you down.

If your job is way too stressful and your suppressed intuition has been telling you to make a change, it's time. You may be chasing the wind and not realize it.

God may be trying to lead you into something else. He is the one you should be trusting in to provide, not your job.

If you trust in and depend on your current situation too much to leave it or alter it when and how you should, you may be forced to in a much uglier way and according to someone elses demands.

I know, it happened to me!

I had a job once that started out as just right, and ended up being very stressful. I knew I could trust God to provide all of our needs if I quit the job, but I had my own plans! They were commendable plans, but not God's will.

The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

If I had just moved on like I had the thought to, I could have avoided a lot of pain. Watch and listen closely. You may be now or soon may be at a time in your life where you need to make a sudden shift that will, sometimes unexpectedly, change your life for the better.

Evaluate your life. Get brave. Get creative. If you are not self-motivated or inspired, research simple living until you are! Never give up.

Have what you want, but want what you have. Don't let what you have, have you. Simplify and cut out the slack until you can fluently manage your life.

And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

The blessings of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22)

Sometimes the riches we are given have nothing to do with money... Chase the kingdom of God and stop chasing the wind.
