Best Business To Start
For many years I had been on the lookout for the best business to start. Since I was a little girl, I've wanted to own my own business. That search has taken me both off and online. My Search For The Best Business Early in marriage, I became intrigued by infomercials and online money-making opportunities.
For a while, I had “Jenny’s Gift Shop” and sold SMC (Specialty Merchandise Corp.) products. I had catalogs, a newsletter that I wrote, sold at bazaars and yard sales, and had boxes of stuff. It was a fun and I enjoyed it. I don’t have a big problem with it, but I got to the point where I decided it wasn’t what I wanted to do anymore. I tried the bogus “Stuffing Envelopes”. If I remember correctly, what I was stuffing was a piece of paper promoting the opportunity for someone else to stuff envelopes or something like that… Where’s the product? My “Home Assembly” experience includes a craft angel and a beaded bracelet (I just found the remnant of that in a drawer and threw it away - seven years later). I am a recovering
pack rat.
Those were interesting, but I didn’t deem them as the best business to start or worthwhile to pursue. I also wasted money on a so-called investment opportunity. Ughh! Naďve. But, it could be worse. You live and learn. Multi-Level Marketing and Me In 2002, I joined a MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) business online. I learned quite a bit from it... Like how to “harvest” emails from web pages I never personally visited, how to promote a “product” you’re not passionate about and don’t even use, how to build a business and make a little money on selling a product that’s sole purpose of existence seemed to be to represent something you receive in exchange for a monthly subscription. The money from that subscription, which a few levels got a share of, was what the MLM’ers were really after, hardly the product that came with it. I made a small amount of money each month for a year or so, but decided it was not the best business to start after all. I cut it off in 2003. I was disappointed, but still determined to succeed! I would search until I found the best business to start for me. Right Idea: Financial freedom Wrong Method: Not a real business/Not based on my gifts & passions My desire was to work for myself and earn significant income doing something I love. Okay, so some of what I did just seemed like a quick and easy way to make money, but I had to mature through that. I have come to the conclusion that the best business to start is one that is a profitable outlet for your passion or area of skill. Basically, think about how you can get paid for doing what you love.
